Osaka, the melting pot of Japanese cuisine in Japan. Here you may find an abundance of different kinds of food! From sushi down to weird desserts like Miso flavored ice-cream. Another surprising fact about Japanese people is that, do not let their size deceive you! They may look small in size, but their stomachs for unlimited meat or carbohydrates is not something to be messed with. For some, even the special large portions which are available in many Japanese fast food restaurants just would not cut it. However, because there are so much choices available, where do you start? Below is a list of 3 different buffet chains which provides an unlimited amount of a wide variety of food.


Kago no ya - Daikokucho Store


Kago no Ya is famous for their all you can eat Shabu-shabu menu. Depending on the kind of course and the kind of meat you want, the amount will differ. They have 4 courses based on the kind of meat of your preference. The courses may be upgraded to a “Premium” course which will open you to more selections of side dishes. You will be limited to 120 minutes, last order will be at the 90 minute mark. Extra charges applies if you would like to add an all you can drink package too. The meat selections are chicken, Japanese beef and 2 kinds of pork! You will also be allowed 5 choices of soup. You may pick 2 of them for your meal, unless you go in a bigger group and have 2 pots. Each pot can contain 2 kinds. This is a chain store so you may also go to the other branches.

Kushiya Monogatari

串家物語 イオンモール川口前川店,

One of Osaka’s famous cuisine is the Kushi Katsu. If you go to Shinsekai, you will see a variety of Kushi Katsu restaurant. However, because they are just small sticks of deep fried meat or vegetables, you would have to eat A LOT of sticks to fill up your stomachs. By the time you pay for that much, you would mind as well pay for the price of an all you can eat session at “Monogatari Kushikatsu”! Another interesting feature of this restaurant is that you are given the chance and the experience to cook Kushi Katsu yourself! You may have your selection of desired meat along with a whole variety of sauces from cheese cream sauce to Japanese Ponzu (vinegar) sauce, to complement it. Also, do not worry if some in your group do not fancy the deep fried foods so much as there is also a number of choice for salads, western food choices and even rice!
Similarly, depending on your package, the price range would differ. Like many buffet restaurants in Japan, you will be allowed only 90 minutes. Therefore, make sure you do take into account on your cooking time and eating time! This is a chain store so you may also go to the other branches.

Cottage - Sennichimae Store

コッテジ なんば店,

A famous Korean BBQ chain store. Depending on the package you pick, you may select some of their special dishes. Of course, their biggest recommendation would be their Sum Gyop Sal 「サムギョプサル」which is specially marinated with miso! For the meat lovers, this is ‘the’ meat to order because of its sheer size and its taste! Occasionally you may catch them on their promotion days where you may just add 500yen only and you get unlimited drinks, including alcohol drinks! What more than a great time with your friends together with awesome food and unlimited amount of drinks! If you can speak Korean, you may find that you’ll be able to converse with some as there are many Koreans who work there.
